Ah...Yes, Kali is still alive. @_@ I apologize for the lack of lj-ing (does anyone even look at this anymore?? X_x ) Believe it or not, stuff's actually happened to post about, too. Crazy, huh?
First, Sets! Thanks for the card! LOL I got it a couple days ago, but haven't been able to get online until tonight (stupid crappy internet is stupid and crappy, particularly when winter arrives in force on me). Yours will be in the mail on Monday because I'm a bloody idiot and forgot to buy stamps. Stupid Kali. Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Sets!!!! ^____^ Have a great day and eat some cake!
So stuff that Kali has done. I have fully moved back to my parents for the winter (I ain't movin' in snow, now so :P ). This has involved painting and moving furniture and... @_@ well, let's just say it's was a gong show. But I'm done with that for a few months, at least.
I also attended the Edmonton Comic Expo at the end of September! I have my clueless cousin and her enthusiastic and curious daughter to thank for that. Neither had ever been to a con, so it was entertaining as all hell for me to introduce them to a small corner of my world. XD Needless to say cousin's daughter is already planning her cosplay for next year. ^___^ Bad influence? Nah... My highlight, however, was to manage to sit in on the panel for Joe Flanigan (SGA)! As a huge Stargate-verse fan
girl, this was just fabulous! He was great - funny, a good speaker, and entertaining. We got a bonus, though, when Garrett Wang (ST:V) came out first as the panel's mod! So fun times all around. I'd have gone for the autograph, but that costs money and Kali has none to spare. :(
In October, I geeked out again and went to the Legend of Zelda, Symphony of the Goddesses at the Jube in Edmonton with my mom - much to her bemusement. She got her entertainment out of seeing/hearing a symphony for the first time, and I just basked in all the Zelda music. ^-^ If you're a fan (and if you're not, what the heck is wrong with you?) this is a must-do. Totally made me want to come home and play Zelda again - which I didn't get to do for another week and a half because of the stupid painting and moving furniture business. -__- Anyway, it was gorgeous music, and the musicians made an excellent presentation.
I have also finally gotten around to reading the Percy Jackson series and the Kane Chronicles, by Rick Riordan. I really liked the 2 movies
so far (which I saw first), and wanted to see if the books were actually as interesting, and as usual the books were better. XD I highly recommend them. Now I just have to get my hands on the last three of the Heroes of Olympus Series so I can be caught up when the last book comes out next fall. One of my biggest pet peeves is not getting the whole story, and I'm kinda behind. Also...the muses strike again (ignore the puns involving muses in this case, considering the myth connections), so...ficage! *sigh* Anyway, go read them! They're a lot of fun!
So! Now it's November (where did the year go!?) and, ugh, it's winter. Officially. !!__!! Kali will be getting up early tomorrow, ugh again, to go outside and shovel the white shit. Have I mentioned that I hate winter? No? I do.
